What is Alpha?

Alpha is a series of dinners and group conversations exploring the big questions of life and faith in a laid back and non-judgmental environment.

It’s for those who do not consider themselves Christians or for those who are new to the Christian faith. If you are curious, skeptical, or just have questions, bring them to Alpha and explore them with new friends and our group leaders!

There are no strings attached! Being critical and/or just curious about the Bible and Jesus is absolutely fine and ensures a lively debate.

Every Alpha evening begins with a meal, where you can enjoy yourself and get to know the other participants.

Welcome & Video
Each Alpha evening features a 25 minute film. These short films explore the big issues around faith and unpack the basics of Christianity.

DISCUSS
19.15 – 20.00*

Discuss the questions that matter to you
After the film we’ll break into discussion groups where you can share your thoughts about faith and life and hear from others in your group.

Why should I join?

You should join if you have decided that exploring faith is important to you. If you have decided that getting a more informed opinion of the big questions of life is relevant to you.

Questions such as “Why am I here?”, “What happens after death?”, “Which values should I follow?”, “Will faith give me hope?” and several other central questions which you have decided are too important not to have an opinion about.

Who we are

The course is hosted by ARK cph, which is a local church in Nørrebro. Alpha itself originates from London, and so far 22 mio. people have attended Alpha courses around the world. In Denmark 160 churches have held an Alpha course and more than 10 courses have been held at ARK with great success.
